Safety Guide

Practical, non-partisan steps for families facing threats or intimidation.

Before Anything Happens

  • Document doors/windows and install basic sensors or cameras.
  • Share a trusted contact list and emergency meeting point with family.
  • Keep digital copies of IDs, leases, and key evidence securely stored.
  • Teach family to spot impersonation (fake delivery/utility staff).

If You Sense Risk

  • Do not confront alone. Notify a trusted neighbor or friend.
  • Record suspicious activity (time/location/description) without escalating.
  • Prepare a go-bag (IDs, medications, chargers, basic cash).
  • Secure digital assets (2FA, hardware wallets; never share seed phrases).

After an Incident

  • Call emergency services first; preserve evidence (no clean-up).
  • File a report; request a copy of the incident number.
  • Seek legal advice; document costs and emotional impact for follow-up.
  • Debrief with family; consider short-term relocation if targeted.
  • Access mental health support to reduce trauma and burnout.

Family & Kids

  • Set code words for pickup/visitors; no door opening without an adult.
  • Teach kids to call for help and share location safely.
  • Plan a simple rally point and who to contact when adults are not present.
